Skilled Worker visa overhaul: UK immigration changes from 22 July 2025 and what employers must do
From 22 July 2025, the UK raised the Skilled Worker skill level to RQF6 and hiked salary thresholds, removed more than 100 jobs (around 180 roles) from eligibility, closed the Social Care Worker route, and restricted dependants for shortage routes. A new Temporary Shortage List replaces the Immigration Salary List. Employers face higher costs and tighter rules, with some protections for current visa holders.
